When is a Seat not a Seat?
All terrain vehicles (ATVs) sold in the U.S. come with a warning that states, among other things, to “NEVER CARRY PASSENGERS” (see picture below).
Although ATVs should only carry one rider, unless it’s a two-up ATV, there are aftermarket accessory manufacturers who produce and sell products that resemble a seat – even though it might not be advertised as such and provides a tag stating “NOT A PASSENGER SEAT” (see pictures below).
