Earlier this month, the newly updated and revised ANSI Z535 Series was published by NEMA. The series includes the following six standards and color chart:

  • ANSI Z535.1 – Safety Colors
  • ANSI Z535.2 – Environmental and Facility Safety Signs
  • ANSI Z535.3 – Criteria for Safety Symbols
  • ANSI Z535.4 – Product Safety Signs and Labels
  • ANSI Z535.5 – Safety Tags and Barricade Tapes (for Temporary Hazards)
  • ANSI Z535.6 – Product Safety Information in Product Manuals, Instructions, and Other Collateral Materials
  • ANSI Z535 – Color Chart

As noted in the Forward of ANSI Z535.6, “…these six standards contain information needed to specify formats, colors, and symbols for safety signs used in environmental and facility applications, product and product literature applications, and temporary safety tag and barricade tape applications” (p. vii).

Special Issue on Leadership Integrity

September 16, 2011 by Eric Shaver · Leave a Comment
Filed under: leadership

The latest issue of The Leadership Quarterly has a call for papers for a special issue on leadership integrity. According to the article, the special issue seeks “…to consider the various facets of integrity in leadership in a more systematic way.” Moreover, potential example research questions include:

  • How do the various perspectives on integrity (e.g., authenticity, ethical leadership, and word–deed consistency) relate to one another?
  • How is leader integrity challenged in contemporary work environments (e.g., environmental turbulence, ethical scandals, dispersed work groups, diverse stakeholder groups, and incentive systems)?
  • How do followers make attributions of leader integrity?
  • How does leader integrity relate to leader effectiveness, and what roles does context play?
  • Can leader integrity be identified? Can it be developed? And, if so, how?
  • Is leader integrity defined similarly and does it function similarly in different cultural contexts?
  • How do conceptualizations of integrity at different levels of analysis (individual, team, and collective) relate to one another?
  • What are the drivers (e.g., leader identity, personality, incentive systems, ethical climate or culture) and outcomes (e.g., individual and collective performance and organizational change) of leader integrity?

Deadline for submissions is February 1, 2012 with the special issue being published in 2013. I look forward to reading the articles on this very important leadership topic.
